Dharma
- The teaching of Buddhism developed from Hinduism
The Buddhist teaching is called Dharma. The Indian word stands for an ancient teaching of the Hindus. These existed before the Buddha. Siddharta Gautama is said to have rediscovered it like an overgrown path in the jungle.

All Buddhists in the world follow this teaching. They try to recognize the Four Noble Truths and to live according to the Noble Eightfold Path and the Five Moral Commandments. The goal of the Buddhists is to reach enlightenment like the Buddha and to become Buddha himself.

For Buddhists, the Dharma is the second of three jewels. The jewels are considered pillars of Buddhism.
